Christine Lamb Second Stage Housing

The 41 unit second stage affordable housing complex for women and children is finally moved in! The spacious west coast inspired BC Housing building is bright and uplifting. This transitional housing facility is the perfect supportive and healthy setting for rebuilding lives of women and children who may be at risk of homelessness, violence and abuse.

The WRSFV is proud to welcome our specially selected tenants, the onsite coordinators, outreach workers and volunteers who have brought this dream to life. This innovative and remarkable opportunity was made possible by the City of Abbotsford and BC Housing.

On behalf of the Women's Resource Society and the residents of the Christine Lamb Building, we would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who volunteered their time and energy to get this building open on schedule. This undertaking could not have been done without your generous donations, hard work and commitment. A special thanks to BC Housing and the City of Abbotsford for making this project come to life.

DE JONG SURPRISES THE WARM ZONE WITH FUNDING

The WRSFV Warm Zone Program has been on the edge of closing its doors to street women who rely on its services for many months now. Influenced by the overwhelming community support in financial donations and in kind contributions MLA Mike de Jong contacted WRSFV Executive Director, Dorothy Henneveld for a surprise meeting on September 11, 2012 at the Warm Zone. De Jong was happy to announce that over $208,000 of BC Gaming funds would be allocated to the WRSFV programs and services, in particular $172,500 is dedicated to the Warm Zone.
